Typically, it does not cost much more to add UIM to your policy or to increase your current UIM coverage. Even if you have health insurance, you should still consider UIM insurance. Many people have health insurance policies with high deductibles. Your health insurance will likely cover medical bills after a car accident, but your plan may not cover services such as chiropractic care. You’ll be on your own when it comes to damage to your car and making up financially for lost time at work, as well.
